Paper and pencil games - I don't know what its called, but a person makes a small line on a piece of paper anywhere and the next person does the same. The object is to make a box and the person who closes the box with the last line gets to initial it. In the end the winner has the most initials.
Another paper/pencil (kinda verbal as well) Start with a four letter word, change one letter to try to make a new word. See how many different words you can get

Old maid, crazy eights, go fish, hangman, tic-tac-toe, uno, war, lines and boxes(the game that was already mentioned with the lines), you could also play 20 questions, acey ducey, memory, or slapjack.
You could also play 52 card pickup (:P) JK.
